What’s included, what’s not?
There are as many arrangements in the charter industry as there are boats. We make it clear what is included with your trip and what is an additional expense. Everything is explained and you select what you want to add to your trip, if anything. Advance Provisioning Allowance, or APA, which is typically 25% -35% of the base price is deposited prior to charter. Any expenses incurred during the trip not included in the charter are deducted from the A.P.A. and the remaining balance is refunded. The idea of the A.P.A. is an account for your convenience allowing the Captain to pay your expenses so you don't have to lift a finger. You may think of it as a pre-payed expense account. Charters for less than 12 hours do not incur this deposit.
The yacht charge
The yacht, crew and all fuel for the planned route are included. If you request a change during the cruise we will do our best to accommodate it and you will be provided an additional cost, if any, ahead of time. There are no hidden costs or fees, everything is disclosed up front. The A.P.A. is based on this cost.
There is no need to tip aboard. There is a minimum 15% tip based on the final yacht charge, not including excursions. You are encouraged to tip to the level of service you receive. All of the tip charge is directly passed through to the crew. That’s the Aquafinity way of making sure your trip is the best. Happy crew, happy customers!
All of the typical meals, snacks and drinks are included. We strive to meet every guests needs and will arrange special diets whenever possible. Advance notice is necessary for special diets. Meals are typical cuisine ranging from American, Italian and Hispanic dishes to one off inventions from the chef. Requests for special meal service such as prime rib, caviar, imported beef and other delicacies will incur an extra charge on a case by case basis and must be arranged ahead of time to insure availability. For birthdays and other special occasions please let us know at least a week before your departure so we can arrange things such as cakes or other celebration appropriate foods. The more you let us know the better we can serve you and make your special occasion a perfect event.
Wine and beer is served in moderate quantities with dinner at no additional cost. Guests desiring specific brands, spirits or higher quantities of alcohol should specify their desires ahead of time so we can accommodate your wishes. There will be a charge for premium selections, custom selections in some cases and for spirits. Customers may bring their own wine and beer aboard however you MUST declare alcohol to the Captain at boarding. Many trips include traveling into Canada and undeclared alcohol is subject to confiscation and fines. (corkage fees apply) Large quantities may be taxed at border crossings and this cost will be passed on to customers.
There is a full size washer and dryer aboard run by the crew. Guests may request cleaning of garments at their own risk, and at no charge, for limited amounts of laundry. Please inquire if you desire cleaning or need drying of any clothes while you are with us.
Dockage, special event, water and electric fees
The boat has 120 volt U.S.A. electric in every stateroom and in many places aboard. Powerful generators run whenever we are underway keeping every guest in complete comfort. Plenty of water is stored for guest use and a water maker gives a virtually endless supply of fresh clean water.. In many ways it is like being aboard a floating hotel. When in port temporary dockage fees, electric and water charges apply which are passed directly on to the customer. These fees generally range from $50 to $350 daily when in port, depending on the location and season. When the yacht is attending some special events there may be an event fee which is passed on to the customer.
The boat has on board satellite TV and each stateroom has a TV and receiver. Cell service towers from all providers range from full service to no service throughout the entire cruising area. Satellite phone service can be arranged on a per trip basis if this is necessary. Emergency calls MAY be made via marine radio. Satellite TV is included however pay per view where available incurs an additional charge. Satellite phone service and marine radio calls incur an additional charge.
Taxes and fees
Any applicable taxes and fees directly associated with a given trip will be passed on to the customer. This includes port fees, customs fees, taxes and expenses for customer requested specific trip related items or services. These are generally very small or non-existent.
Excursions tours and adventure trips
Tours conducted by crew are included at no additional cost. Activities such as fishing, kayaking, helicopter tours and adventure trips are often provided by vendors selected for their quality by Aquafinity Charters. Excursions, tours and adventure trips not conducted by Aquafinity Charters are at the guest’s expense. Just let us know what you want to do and we'll set you up.
